Description

The Empire of Austria-Hungary was one of France's most consistent of enemies during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Except for a short period around 1812, it was always either actively or passively fighting against this enemy. Being able to draw on large quantities of manpower, the Army was large but did consist of soldiers from many different countries that made up the Empire. Not only did the uniforms change considerably during this period, but also the way both the infantry and cavalry arms were organized changed a number of times which affected the way the Army was able to fight. This all makes this Army a fascinating one to study.
