Description

This is a German-Language item and includes no English components unless noted in the condition note.

Many years ago, when the mage's feared guilds reached the height of their power, their influence did not stop at borders ¸ or gates. Their eyes saw hidden places ¸, their ears heard secret conversations ¸, their minds invented intrigues ¸ to sow strife and feign friendship ¸ in order to satisfy the desires of their financiers or even their own for growing strength and accumulated knowledge. Counts ¸, princes and kings were often shadows of their will in the clutches of foreign magicians.

However, when the ties between the guilds and the rulers were torn apart ¸ and the rulers felt defenceless against each other as well as against the mages ¸ they saw their power flowing away with the guilds ¸ and many of them swore ¸ to take revenge on the faithless wizards ¸ who had richly rewarded them for decades. They felt betrayed and incited the citizens against the guilds ¸ to drive them out of the country for their alleged betrayal.

Before the magicians became aware of the new situation ¸, the suffering people had found their culprits ¸ and they stormed into the guild houses with the new laws behind them ¸, devastated the furnishings and burned down ¸ what seemed magical and damned to them. The anger ¸ that had built up through the countless wars of the kings and the resulting poverty and misery ¸ finally vented itself in this persecution. The captors mercilessly followed the magicians to the last corners ¸, dragged them out of their hiding places and put an end to their activities. The guilds were unable to counter the concentrated indignation of the common people ¸, who had fought for them in their name for decades ¸.

So the remaining ones fled to Bekal-Burudos.
