Description

ACP is an ENNIE-nominated, light-hearted sci-fi TTRPG for 3 to 5 players. It's a GM-less game, intended to be played as a one-shot or short campaign over 1-3 sessions.

You'll need at least 3 six-sided dice, a deck of playing cards and the printouts (or you can use my free custom Miro board if you're playing online).

Although ACP is easy to learn, each game is varied and rewarding due to:

  • a choice of 8 hunter roles and 8 host roles (64 different combinations!)
  • a menu of 9 themed event playbooks, playable in any order
  • player-created ship assets that you’re rewarded for using
  • randomly generated contracts and passengers

The game involves answering prompt questions, earning and creating your own items, decorations and NPCs for your ship, and telling stories about how your crew deals with the many dangerous and amusing situations that arise from your passenger's demands.

There's no stats to manage or rolling dice for combat - it's all about creating a fun story together and utilising the resources and skills available to you! You could even avoid violence altogether with some creative thinking.

You'll complete three contracts, each consisting of three events picked from a menu. After each event you'll roll a few dice to see how well you've done and how your crew are rewarded.

You'll build on each other's stories and use your unique and ever-changing skills to find solutions to the problems you'll face in your new career. But don't forget to look after your passengers and fulfill your contracts! Someone will roleplay as a passenger at the end of each contract to judge how well you've done.

Each player starts with two character sheets for their past and present careers. As you play, you'll gradually leave behind your hunter life, giving up your old name, possessions and skills.

By the end of the game, most players become experienced hosts, with a different set of skills and a nickname that reflects their new career.
