Resist!

Spain, year 1936. General Franco and his troops advance through the different territories giving way to a long period of repression. Once the Spanish Civil War was over, a group of loyalists to the Republic decided to continue with the armed struggle, forming resistance groups known by the name of maquis. Hidden in the mountains, these men and women decided to risk their lives and fight in defense of the ideals of democracy and freedom. Against them they had Franco's army, the Civil Guard and the Armed Police. The maquis perfected their guerrilla warfare in France during World War II and were determined to reclaim their homeland. In his head only the echo of the desire of many compatriots resounded: Resist!

Take on the role of the maquis and confront the Franco regime. Over an unlimited number of rounds, take on increasingly difficult missions and earn valuable victory points. It is up to you to decide how far you want to go. Will you settle for taking out a few key targets or will you hold out to the end to free Spain from oppression? The fight begins.

Resist! is a fast-paced, card-based solitaire game in which you take on the role of the Spanish Maquis, fighting against the Franco regime. Over a series of rounds, increasingly difficult missions are carried out, and completing them earns the points needed to win. If you can't beat the missions and the enemies, you can lose. At the end of each round, you must choose whether to wipe out the resistance or take your chances and take on another mission.

At the beginning of the game, you assemble a team of twelve maquis, who are represented by a deck of cards. At the heart of the game is the tension between keeping your maquis hidden from Franco or revealing them to unleash their full potential. Unfortunately, revealed maquis are removed from your deck, and you may not be able to use them for the rest of the game. Although Resist! has some minor deckbuilding elements, it's mostly a "deck buster" game where you have to manage your deck, balancing deciding to defeat the immediate threat with trying to move on to the next mission.
