Description

This is a German language item and includes no English components unless noted in the condition note.

From the makers of Carolus Magnus and Cartagena comes another milestone in board game development: Ulysses. That's what the adventurous odyssey of Odysseus is called, a historical legend that almost everyone knows. But hardly anyone suspects how this legendary odyssey came about: When the gods on Mount Olympus once again had too much time, Zeus suggested choosing a human being and sending him on a journey. Each of the gods should secretly set a place and try to make the mortal travel there. The winner should be whose destination the traveler ends up at. Odysseus was nearby and suddenly became the plaything of the gods.

In Ulysses, players take on the role of the gods. Each player draws four face-down cards showing the locations that Odysseus' ship should reach as quickly as possible. When it is your turn, you first try to strengthen your position by cleverly using your various cards. Then he suggests the next milestone of the ship that is most favorable for him. The other players rarely agree with this, however, and play their Objection cards to influence the course of Odysseus' ship in their favor. Whoever has the strongest "arguments" and is best at bluffing determines the further course. Intuition, tactical skill and a good deal of cunning are required to keep the Bug on the right course in this exciting game. The first person to reach their fourth goal wins.

Ulysses was developed by the renowned Italian board game manufacturer Venice Connection, with whom Winning Moves has been working closely for years with great success. Leo Colovini's Carolus Magnus was nominated for Game of the Year 2000. Cartagena, also developed by Colovini, has long been a board game classic and has been highly praised by experts and buyers alike. Ulysses comes back from the sacred halls of Italy, conceived by Andrea Angiolino and Piergiorgio Paglia. Players take on the role of the Olympian gods and play the fate of Odysseus, each attempting to take him to various secretly chosen destinations. However, the other players rarely agree with this and play their objection cards.
Whoever has the strongest cards and is best at bluffing determines the further odyssey. It takes intuition, tactical skill, and cool bluffing to keep the Bug on course and come first in this lively game.
