Description

Lake Freighter Minis provides kits which fill the void for a Great Lakes freighter model in today's market. They are colored and laser printed on 100-pound cover stock paper. These Great Lakes freighter models, created by Bob May, are extremely durable, detailed, and fun to build.

As these kits are not for the novice, hobby shops have rated the model kits a 3.5 out of 5 for difficulty. The laser printed parts are ready to be cut out and glued right out of the package! Illustrated instructions help the hobbyist along the way. All model builders and ship buffs 12 years and older will love this consumer-friendly paper model kit.

Paper model assembly requires scissors, hobby knife, ruler, and white glue. The kit package contains laser printed model parts and printed instructions. Completed model measures 11 1/4" long.

SS City of Milwaukee is a Great Lakes railroad car ferry that once plied Lake Michigan, often between Muskegon, Michigan and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was built in 1931 for the Grand Trunk Milwaukee Car Ferry Company and is the only pre-1940s ship of this type to survive. She now serves as a museum ship, bed and breakfast, and event venue on the waterfront of Manistee Lake in Manistee, Michigan. She was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1990.
