Description

Please note: this version does not include the PO Box with the copyright information. There is some dispute to which version is the 1st printing. Laura states that she believe the 1st printing is without the PO Box and the 2nd printing is with the PO Box. Due to this information we prefer to list these as either No PO Box Version or PO Box Version.

This is the origin point for one of the most famous and sought after adventures in Dungeons and Dragons history. While the adventure itself is a fairly straightforward tale of a maiden being spirited away by an evil outsider, the story of the module is much more interesting. This early version pre-dates publication by TSR. By the report of Tracy Hickman, who illustrated the adventure, fewer than 200 copies of this version were produced, and it’s quite possible fewer than 20 remain in existence!

The original introduction bills the adventure as a “Nightventure” or an adventure that could be played in one night. However, this series was to be short-lived as financial need drove the Hickman’s to sell the only two adventures in the series, Rahasia and Pharoh to TSR. However it was the very act that got Tracy hired to TSR. The adventure would later be published as an RPGA exclusive module, and then finally as Module B7.

This specific copy of this item is exceptionally crisp and clean with small scuff marks on the cover but an otherwise unmarred surface. The pages have sharp edges and only the smallest of wear along the edges. A few small stains are visible near the bottom page edge, but they are fairly faint. In sum the item can be called VG+.

By sheer rarity alone this item is of pinnacle interest to the serious collector, but the compelling story and this item’s place in it makes it a true artifact of historical significant in the lore of Dungeons and Dragons. This is your opportunity to enshrine a gaming legend in your own collection!
