Description

British Biplane Fighter Aircraft… Worriers of the Sky

The Fairey Flycatcher was a British single-seat biplane fighter aircraft made from 1923 to 1934. The Flycatcher was a remarkable design for its time and was one of the earliest aircraft specifically produced for
operation from aircraft carriers. Very popular with pilots, they were easy to fly and very maneuverable. It was in the Flycatchers that the Fleet Air Arm developed the combat tactics used in the Second World War.

The Hawker Fury MK-2 was a British single-seat biplane aircraft used by the Royal Air Force in the 1930s. It was a fast, agile aircraft and holds the distinction of being the first interceptor in RAF service to be capable of more than 200 MPH. It had highly sensitive controls which gave it superb aerobatic performance. It had a climb rate of almost 2,400 ft/min powered by a 525 HP Kestrel engine and was armed with two 303 Vickers Guns, with 6000 rounds of ammunition each.
