Description

Eiffel Tower

The tower is named after its designer Gustave Eiffel. Eiffel himself called it simply - the 300-meter tower (tour de 300 metres). It was intended as a temporary structure - served as the entrance arch of the Paris World Exhibition in 1889.

After the opening of the Eiffel Tower for more than 40 years it was the highest building in the world, almost twice higher than the tallest buildings in the world at that time.

When the tower was built it divided French society into two camps - the enthusiastic fans of a masterpiece of engineering and the ardent haters of the “monstrous iron monster.”

Now “Iron Lady”, as she is called by the Parisians, is a world-famous symbol of France.

It is one of the most visited and most photographed landmarks in the world. During the existence of the tower, it has been visited by over 250 million people.

At the time of construction, the tower had no practical application. With time the top became a meteorological laboratory, and with the advent of radio the tower gets a clear practical application. Now because of the suspended television, radio, and other antennas the tower grew by about 20 meters.

These papercraft miniature playsets are supplied unassembled, but no cutting or glue is required.
