Description

This 3rd and final volume in a series reviews the 9th to the 12th regiments of the Hussars of the Empire. Also reviewed are those curious regiments - the 13th (Bacciochi) Hussars and the 14th Hussars, both of them recruited in Italy.

There is a chapter devoted to the famous 1812 Regulations, Major Bardin's monumental work whose manuscript describes all the uniforms, equipment, harnessing and weapons used by the Imperial troops in the tiniest detail. There is also a look at the uniforms worn by the first eight regiments during the 1813-15 period and how, during this troubled period, regulations were only partly followed as the difficult Saxon and French campaigns gave rise to more important things than uniform changes.

This book is an English language edition.
