Nashville, 1995/1996, Battery Press, A limited edition reprint of the Prussian Official History of the Franco-Prussian War 1870-71. Originally prepared under the direction of General Von Moltke 1874 to 1881. Hard bound, green cloth with gilt spine title stampings.
Volume 1- The Outbreak of the War to the Battle of Mars la Tour, August 1870. This traces German operations from the invasion of France thru the engagements at Saarbrucker, Weissenburg, Worth, Spicheren, Colombey-Nouilly and Vionville / Mars la Tour up to the evening of l7 August, 1870.

Volume 2 - The Battle of Sedan & the End of the Second Empire. This volume begins with the battles of Gravelotte / St. Privat on 18 August 1870, then chronicles the advance on Chalons, battles of Buzancy, Nouart, Beaumont, the retreat of the French forces to Sedan and the battle of Sedan itself. Also detailed are German naval actions in the Baltic and North Sea, the investment of Strassbourg, Metz & the battle of Noisseville. This volume concludes on September, 1870.

Volume 3 - The Siege of Paris & the New Third Republic. From the investment of Paris to the Re-Occupation of Orleans. Covers from early Sept. to early Dec., 1870. Beginning with the movement of the armies after Sedan, the investment of Paris, capture of Toul, siege of Strassbourg, occupation of Soisson, first battles with the newly formed French armies in Loire and N.W. France, the investment of Metz, operations in the S.E. of France incl many small battles, operations in Northern & Central France after the fall of Metz, French movements to relieve Paris, the battle of Orleans 3-4 Dec, l870

Volume 4 – History of the War Against the Republic. This volume discusses the events in northern France from the end of November, in the north-west from the beginning of December, and the Siege of Paris from the commencement of December to the armistice. Also included is the operations in the south-east from middle of November to the middle of January.

Volume 5 – History of the War Against the Republic. This volume discusses the events in south-east France from the middle of January to the termination of hostilities, rearward communications, the armistice, homeward march and occupation, and a retrospect.
