Description

The "Winter War" occurred in December 1939 between the Finnish ski troops and the invaders of the Soviet Union in the vicinity of Torvajarvi, Finland. It is a battle-type game reproduced on a scale. The player acts as the commander of the Soviet Union or the Finnish troops and aims for victory. The game is designed for two players, but it can also be played alone to learn the rules and explore different historical possibilities.

In the Battle of Trovajarvi there was also an interesting situation as a theme of the game, where both sides were given the opportunity to attack and defend. The front was fluid and maneuverability was as important as striking power. Games rarely get stuck. Soviet players struggle with the timing of armored units, and if Finnish players outperform the Soviet onslaught, they will get a morale boost and turn into a counterattack, which is a dynamic development.
