Description

There is a lofty pantheon of games that stand out as the rarest of the rare, the most highly sought after of all. These are games that are so rare that most collectors will not even see a real copy in their lifetime let alone hold one in their hands, or least of all, reach that highest plateau of prestige and own a copy themself.

And yet, here sits such an opportunity for one with the conviction to seize it.

Trafalgar is a battle of great historical consequence to begin with, making it an alluring subject to address in a fully realized wargame. However, in the early pioneering days of the wargaming hobby attempting such a feat of design was difficult, even more so for someone self-publishing without the support of a larger studio, yet this is what you now see before you. This battle rebuffed Napoleon's advances on Britain and solidified British naval supremacy in the annals of history.

The physical components of the game are as follows:

A heavy blue vinyl mat serves as the map with white gridlines stenciled onto it taking up a space 3 feet by 4 feet for the game's play area. This copy's map has some heavy creasing along its folds as well as some staining in places across it. The entire mat has a waxy feeling to it suggesting that the quality of the vinyl has degraded over time. In total the map can be considered VG.

The rules have been heavily referenced and suffered some damage from age. There are many dents folds and creases throughout the rulebook as well as small holes from where the paper has degraded, particularly on the coversheet and at the edges of the paper. Both the first and last pages are separated from the staple, but are present. Small stains fleck the page edges as well. the Rulebook can only realistically be called Fair.

The CRT tables have been heavily used and have tears, creasing and staining throughout. They are Fair.

The Shielding chart and orders of battle are modern photocopies, originals of these materials are not included.

The included record sheets have similar damage to the rulebook however there is less damage in total amongst them. Some sheets remain undamaged, while others have creases and stains. One sheet is notated in pencil. In total, the record sheets are VG.
The counters are in surprisingly good condition for the level of damage on other components. one previously blank counter is notated, but there is no other significant damage to the counters besides general aging. the counters can be safely called EX.

The plastic templates used for measuring shots have noteworthy scuffing across their surface with some of the colored markings having worn to a noticeable degree. the large template is missing the hinged plastic piece that was used to align it. Excepting the missing piece, the templates are VG.

If you are a serious collector of wargames, your moment is now. With only an estimated 450 of these items in existance, you will likely never have another chance to make it your own. Take this opportunity to get a copy of one of the most sought after items in the hobby, lest you wait too long and have the glory go to someone else.
