Description

Corregidor: the Rock takes a detailed look at the hard-fought battles for the island of Corregidor, located at the entrance to Manila Bay in the Philippines, during bot the Japanese invasion in 1942 and the subsequent US Retaking of the islands in 1945.

Corregidor is a tadpole-shaped, rocky, fortified island at the entrance to Manila Bay near the island of Luzon that is about 2 square miles in area. In 1941 the island was heavily fortified with numerous coastal batteries which mounted 45 guns of various sizes. The wide western end of the island, known as Topside, contained most of the island’s guns, while barracks and support facilities were located on a plateau to the east known as Middleside. Further east was Bottomside, which contained the town of San Jose as well as dock facilities.

Corregidor: the Rock includes the following:

  • 21 Scenarios covering actions from 1942 (3 scenarios) and 1945 (18 scenarios)
  • 2 Campaign Games
  • 180 full color, die cut 1/2" counters (Infantry, SW, Control, and info)
