While still in its relative infancy, the Aetherium was rocked to its core during the First Great Trade War, and so too was the material world. The haste with which humanity had flung itself into the ever-expanding system was matched only in scale and speed by its near catastrophic collapse. No entity was safe.

First amongst the combatants was House Ikaru. With the help of the mysterious Central Processer, House Ikaru unleashed the Code Eater virus into the Aetherium. The Lords of Ikaru believed they had created an adaptable and aggressive weapon perfectly within their control.

When time came to delete itself, unforeseen and unbeknownst to even the mighty Central Processor, the Code Eater virus quietly spun fragmented pieces of its code into the frontiers. Amidst the chaos and carnage, these subtle elements wen unseen… for a time.

The Code Eater did not wither nor die in its banishment to the quantum noise. Instead, it grew, it evolved, and it transformed into something entirely new. Now that something has returned.
