Over two decades ago, the ocean liner Paradise disappeared on the open sea. Ten years later it mysteriously returned, heavy one passenger. That extra passenger was a young girl named Aspen. Adopted by Captain Matthews of the Paradise, Aspen grew up tied to the water. It was in her blood. As an Olympic Gold Medal swimmer, an experienced diver and with several degrees in Marine Biology, Aspen became a natural candidate for a staff position on the Deep Marine Discovery. DMD was a joint venture between Japan and the United States, a permanent base on the sea floor and a golden opportunity to a scientist like Aspen. It was the start of a whole new life - but in a way she never could have imagined.
