Description

From the high towers of its grand universities to the rancid alleys of its darkest slums, the City of Greyhawk awaits you. Center of magic and learning in the Flanaess, Greyhawk is also the home of powerful thieves, mighty warriors, traitorous ambassadors, and honest craftsmen. They all await you within the pages of this information-packed boxed set. You get four full-size, full-color maps, each depicting a different aspect of the Greyhawk campaign. Two 96-page books give you a detailed overview of the city and a closer look at its more influential citizens - and its more notorious criminals. Many detailed, colorful adventure cards provide players with short adventures in the city and throughout the surrounding realms of Greyhawk.

This exact copy is believed to be an in-house publication version from TSR. It was received directly from a known TSR employee still in the shrink-wrap, however the original printing source remains unconfirmed. The box is a plain dark blue with a cover sheet for the box set adhered to the top. The cover sheet has slightly altered artwork than the final release version, and the gold seal stating its compatability near the logo at the top, rather than in the bottom right corner. The visible printing, is on the whole, darker than the final release version. This is in the shrinkwrap but shows some wear with bowing in all of its corners, a small dent in the back right corner, and tiny breaks in all the corners of the shrinkwrap, though the wrap remains firmly in place!

We have never before seen or heard of this item before, and it could be an entirely unique proof version of this iconic and highly recognizable accessory for the most classic of D&D campaign settings. Its distinctive nature could make it a focal point in any serious collection and it is likely never to be available again.
