Description

Please note that in 2013 Critical Hit started producing products with 12" x 18" cardstock maps. This ASL product will contain this new style of map.

HURTGEN/BRECOURT II continues to provide you with new and FREE stuff! You get the Strass historical map FREE with this new edition. You also receive a new edition of the Brécourt Manor map, using the new terrain art that has been received positively in our latest releases—ready to assault again, as seen in the awesome "Band of Brothers" miniseries episode covering the attack. And you guessed it ... the new edition includes an expanded counter set of 101st Airborne-patched AND 83rd Infantry Division-patched MMC/MC to use in the scenarios—everything laid out in the nice new format you've grown accustomed to in the years since the first edition was released.

STRASS, GERMANY, 10 December 1944: The 83rd Infantry Division was sent into the Hürtgen Forest to relieve the 4th Infantry Division which had sustained heavy casualties in its attempt to clear the forest and reach the Roer River. Running along the western edge of the forest is a major highway with key intersections at the town of Gey. To the south and east is the town of Strass, a position supporting the German forces in Gey. On the morning of 10 December, the 83rd reached the western edge of the Hürtgen Forest and prepared to assault on these two vital towns. The 331st Regiment was tasked with capturing Gey. The job of capturing Strass falls to the 330th Regiment, which had already suffered heavy casualties. If these two towns could be taken, the road to Düren on the Roer would be wide open. After a heavy artillery barrage, the 3rd Battalion of the 330th advanced out of the Hürtgen Forest and on to its objective.
