Description

The Crimean War was the result of ambitions contrary three major European powers: Russia, England and France of Napoleon III who hopes delete the Treaty of Vienna with a victory over Russia. The English, French and Turkish allies set a strategic goal of Sevastopol city, hoping to "neutralize" then the Black Sea. After landing in the Crimea and the Russians rushed to Alma, the Anglo-French forces Lord Raglan and Marshal Canrobert are engaged, in October 1854 in a siege of the city.

Attempt to break the deadlock and the seat, Prince Menshikov ordered an offensive against, with 35 000 men to seize the heights of Inkerman dominate the British camp.

Battle of Inkerman is delivered in a particularly rough terrain. The Russian attack in three columns, is not used decisively. Into chaos, the English react calmly and ultimately retain their positions. A charge of Zouaves and Algerian infantry, brought in reinforcements by the French troops finally pushes Menshikov who must retire in Sevastopol.
