Description

Doc Philips has taken an oath far older than the oath of service to the Constitution and takes his work as a Doctor as more important than anything else. Unaware of the concept of germs and possessing only the crudest (by today's standards) of medical knowledge, removing damaged limbs was one of the few options Civil War era physicians had that could actually save patients. The horrific damage of a Minnie ball striking the bone of a leg or arm was best remedied with amputation. In this vignette, at least the attendant to the surgeon has a bottle of chloroform to knock the patient out. With the flow of wounded coming in, it's only a matter of time before supplies run out though. The pile of limbs attests to intensity of today's fighting.

The surgery table, made of a door precariously perched on two barrels is loaded with medical instruments like a bullet probe, bandages, a small dish holding removed bullets and even a cleaver (yikes!).

The other two figures represent Private Dave bringing his wounded best friend Darren in from the field of battle for help. Lucky he found that wheel barrow!

Miniatures are supplied unpainted and assembly may be required.
