D&D - Original Woodgrain Box (2nd Printing)

Yes, the very 1st edition of the Dungeons & Dragons game! Only approximately 1-2,000 copies of this rare 2nd printing box set were made and due to the popularity of the game most were well used. A true collectors item.

The box shows wear. The top of the box has 3 split corners and the bottom of the box has 1 split corner.

Vol. 1 - Men & Magic - Fair/VG condition, no staple rust. The front cover has a large crease that extends from approximately the middle of the bottom edge to the middle of the right edge, so it is like a large dog ear. There is also a 2 1/2" pencil mark on the upper part of the front cover. The back cover has moderate to heavy marking from dirt & pencils. The title page has the previous owner's name written inside the book. The center page which consists of pages 17-20 is loose and has some light spotting on pages 18 and 19. Those pages were removed from the staples and are not torn. There are some light pen notations on pages 9, 11, 23 & 28. These notations are no more than a word or two.

Vol. 2 - Monsters & Treasure - VG condition, no staple rust. The cover is crease free and shows light shelf wear. The title page has the previous owner's name written inside the book. Pages 17-23 are loose. Those pages were removed from the staples and are not torn. There is a light pen notation on page 1 which is 1 errata number. There are pencil notations on pages 28 (4 check marks) and 40 (errata of 10 numbers). There are moderate pen notations on pages 14 (errata of 20 words), 18 (errata of 6 words), 24 (errata of 25 words), and 32 (errata of 22 words).

Vol. 3 - The Underworld & Wilderness Adventures - VG+/EX condition, no staple rust. The cover is crease free and shows light shelf wear. The title page has the previous owner's name written inside the book. There are no loose pages. There are moderate pen notations of pages 9-10 consisting of errata of 31 numbers. Other than those notations the pages of this book are crisp, clean and mark free.

Reference Sheets complete with Corrections Sheet! - VG+ condition. Pages are clean and notation free.

Also please note that the price was corrected on the price list by the manufacturer. This is a commonly known variation in the woodgrain box sets.

Definitely a played and loved copy but still an amazing piece of gaming history!
