Description

Yes, the very 1st edition of the Dungeons & Dragons game! Only approximately 1-2,000 copies of this rare 2nd printing box set were made and due to the popularity of the game most were well used. A true collectors item.

The box is fair as it has some creasing, spotting, some minor tears on the label along with a price written on the front label but is fully intact and in otherwise a solid VG condition.

The pictures shown are of the actual item for sale. More pictures of this item can be provided upon request.

All the interior books have their original color, are bright and clean with the below exceptions.

Vol. 1 - Men & Magic - NM- condition! No staple rust.

Vol. 2 - Monsters & Treasure - VG/VG+ condition. Some smudges on the back cover and light creases on the front cover along with a 1/4" tear near the upper left spine. Pages 19-21 have come loose from the staples (common problem with these books) and could be potentially reinserted. A very small stain along the outer edge of the pages on the right hand side. Minor staple rust. The interior pages are crisp, clean, and devoid of markings.

Vol. 3 - The Underworld & Wilderness Adventures - NM- condition! Very small tear near the bottom of the spine on the back cover. No staple rust.

Reference Sheets complete with Corrections Sheet! - VG condition. A few of the pages have some light staining and the roll table under magic items has been notated in red pen.

Also please note that the price was corrected on the price list by the manufacturer. This is a commonly known variation in the woodgrain box sets. Overall, this is one of the nicest copies of the 2nd printing we have ever seen and would make a great addition, if not a centerpiece, of any D&D collection!
