Description

This is a French game with rules in English, French, and German.

In a fledgling city, things have yet to be built, and opportunities to carve out a commercial empire abound. However, in order to erect the city's largest districts, you'll have to be a shrewd negotiator and a wise spender.

The material of the game is:

  • Wood cubes, metal nuggets, pieces of fabric, stones... representing the resources.
  • Tiles of different size representing buildings. The building bring you resources of have special effects on the building in the neighborhood.

Each turn, you collect your resources, you can exchange them with the other players and you build new constructions. You play 7 turns. All other rules (effects of the buildings) are written on the tiles.

Each district tend to be specialized in a few resources, but to build new construction you will need a little bit of everything, so there are many trade-based interactions between players. Cité illustrates the workings and limits of mainstream economic theory like the Hecksche-Ohlin model and improves your negotiation skills.

Everybody play in the same time, so you never wait and the game is quite quick for this category of game.
