Description

Sorcerian began its life in Japan where it was on the best-seller game charts over a three year period. The game is set in the fantasy kingdom of Pentawa where monsters, wizards, magicians and enchantments rule the day. A hybrid of role-playing, arcade action and adventure, Sorcerian offers three detailed scenarios, each with five specific levels (missions).

In true role-playing fashion, character generation is highly customizable with four classes of adventurers (wizard, elf, dwarf and fighter), each with seven primary attributes (strength, intelligence, protection, magic resistance, vitality, dexterity and karma) and over 60 possible occupations from which to choose. More than 120 spells span five detailed "books" of magic encompassing the fields of herbal, offensive, defensive, healing and transportation incantations.

Sorcerian is a screen-scroller where the player approaches each of the three scenarios in linear fashion, as levels within a scenario get progressively more difficult, requiring character advancement in experience, gold, ability and attributes. The magic within the game has its roots embedded in seven mythical gods The Gods of the Seven Planets and their individual influences on various sources of power (life, light, intelligence, language, communication, harmony, balance, peace, battle, destruction, fire, justice, wisdom, luck and death).

All magic spells are the product of combining specific ingredients or elemental factors resulting in varying degrees of potency and are diversified by effects in the realms of earth, fire, water, air or spirit. All 15 levels contained within the three main scenarios are explained fully in the manual in terms of goal (your mission), what monsters you'll encounter and which items will come into play during your quest.
