Description

On the battlefields of the far future, increased fire-power and the need for rapid response have combined to favor small, hard hitting, and self sufficient units. However, even amongst these forces, who are considered to be elite in their own right, there are still places for individuals and small 'specialist' units who's training and equipment place them in a category of their own. The rapidly increasing sophistication of future technology also means that 'specialty' is no longer the exclusive realm of the combat soldier. On the future battlefield special units can also be based around vehicles, machines and Cybernetics. Such forces are 'special' in every sense of the word.

The expense and complexity associated with Special Forces inevitably means that they are usually only employed sparingly, and in small units. However, once deployed in combat, they invariably have an effect out of all proportion to their size. When not engaged on active duty, many organizations tend to pool their Special Forces into a single 'parent' unit, universally known as a Cyber-wing. This volume covers specialist training, equipment and machinery which can be found amongst the ranks of the Cyber-wings, along with a suggested scenario for the inclusion of some of the new items in conjunction with 'standard' troops.

Cyber-wing is designed to supplement the companion titles Dropwing and (Mech)Wing in order to simulate tactical combat in a Science Fiction setting by using models to represent combatants, vehicles and terrain. The scale of model used can be 15 or 25/30mm depending on the playing area available and the size of the forces involved.
