Militia (2006 Edition)

Broadly referred to as 'irregular troops', militia units are called up as required, and none can foretell how many men will turn up. These troops receive no formal training or discipline and have to equip themselves at their own expense. For many it is a way to earn some much needed extra gold crowns.

This boxed-set contains 20 multi-part plastic Empire Militia, which can be assembled with a variety of weapons such as swords, hammers, crossbows and bows to name but a few.

Free Company make great detachments. At only five points each they are very cheap in points and also very useful. They've got two attacks each and if you use them in ranks of 6 you can maximise the number of attacks they'll get in the flank of any unit charging their parent unit. Small units work best and will discourage enemy missile troops from targeting and destroying your un-armoured Free Company.

Empire Archers are normally organized into small groups of skirmishers who support the regimented units in battle. Trappers and hunters from the wilder, less 'civilized provinces such as Ostland and the Ostermark, are often called to serve in special units called Huntsmen.
