Description

Two solitaire wargames are included in the Winter 2009-10 52-page issue of PANZER DIGEST.

Eindekker simulates the era of the "Fokker scourge" on the western front in 1915 in the First World War. You are in the role of a famous German fighter pilot such as Max Immelmann or Oswald Bokcke, flying a Fokker EI in France. Play takes place over a one week period, the aim being for you to dominate the skies over the battlefield while on combat patrol, trench patrol, and trench support missions. Includes full rules, 31 counters, map, and historical commentary.

Poor Bloody Infantry is a tactical World War I "experience" game simulating a single platoon (featuring counters representing individual men) going over the top at the Somme on July 1, 1916. The game is played on a standard chess board grid, and includes 128 counters, rules, Reference Card, and four historical scenarios: Red Hand at Thiepval Wood, 10th West Yorks at Fricourt, Advance of the 4th Liverpool Pals, and 16th Middlesex at Beaumont Hamel.

Also included in issue #8 is an introductory set of tactical air combat miniatures rules, WW2 DOGFIGHT. Using these rules and the accompanying aircraft ratings, you'll be able to recreate myriads of historical aerial engagements.

In addition to the games and game inserts, issue #8 is full of wargaming articles and reviews. Variants for OSG's NAPOLEON AT LEIPZIG and Avalon Hill's FIREPOWER are included, plus wargame reviews of GMT's ELUSIVE VICTORY, Columbia's RICHARD III, Decision's FIRST BATTLE OF BRITAIN, Victory Point's ZULUS ON THE RAMPARTS, Lock n' Load's HEROES OF THE BLITZKRIEG, Minden's REMAGEN BRIDGEHEAD, Victory Point's NO RETREAT, Command & Strategy's OPERATION WALKURE, LPD's HONEY SPRINGS, and more.
