Dark Waters

Long before there was a Kingdom of Tursh, during the Great Darkness, the territory between the Agâmlôni and Barminul rivers was known as the Aglathân Principality. It was a land ruled with an iron hand by one of history’s forgotten tyrants; Prince Ossai. The Prince was a mighty warrior and necromancer, a servant of Merdashtes, and many believe the archetype of the Dark Heralds that would come later.

The Prince had many enemies and he would send his undead armies into the neighboring lands to cause strife and terror, each raid would increase the dead under his command. It took a powerful conclave of heroes to finally bring down Ossai, but even they could not destroy the artifacts that he wielded. Instead each member took one of the accursed items and travelled the length and breadth of Hylrexia to conceal each piece or discover the means to destroy them.

The principality is now known as the Duchy of Jisan and it rests between the same rivers, now called the Queensreach and the Sudren, respectively. The Kingdom of Tursh has prospered despite its recent rulers but the power of Ossai remains within the seeds of his ancient armor. One such seed exists somewhere near the village of Douglan.
