Description

13:45 hrs Sunday, September 17, 1944...

...thirty thousand paratroopers and glider troops of the Allied 1st Airborne Army fill the skies over Holland in one of the most daring (and ultimately unsuccessful) operations of the Second World War. In advance of the powerful British XXX Corps armored column, the airborne troops of the U.S. 101st Airborne Division, U.S. 82nd Airborne Division, British 1st Airborne Division and the Polish Parachute Brigade are ordered to seize the key bridge over the Rhine, and the canals and rivers along the way. If they succeed, they will open the way over the might Rhine and into the heart of Nazi Germany, thereby ending the war by Christmas. The Devil's Cauldron is about to begin.

This was Operation Market-Garden (A Bridge to Far), and it was to become one of the most famous battle of World war II in the West. Now the Devil's Cauldron recaptures the battle on a grand scale. With the color and atmosphere that the operation deserves, The Devil's Cauldron has been created to also give unrivaled historical detail and a game system that will allow players to explore the great "Whys" and "What Ifs" as the battle unfolds.

With and easy to learn game engine, The Devil's Cauldron offers plenty of nuance and balance for the experienced gamer with game times ranging from a 90-minute scenario to the 50 Hour campaign. The Devil's Cauldron covers the northern half of the Market-Garden operation including the action of the British 1st Airborne and the U.S. 82nd Airborne division.

Each copy of the game contains:

2 Grand Tactical Series Rulebooks (one full and one summarized)
Exclusive TDC Rulebook with 8 scenarios and 4 campaign games

4 beautifully rendered and massively detailed 23.5”x35.5” maps that cover the Northern portion of the Market Garden. 3 of these maps are back-printed with the map sections needed for the various one-map scenarios in the game (so no need to play scenarios where two maps join!).

1 sheet of 1” activation chits (70 counters in all).
8 Divisional displays
4 10-sided dice
