Description

This set of wargames rules is meant to cover the period of true ancient warfare. It is intended that they should be used for games recreating battles in the western world, between the height of Egyptian power in the thirteenth-century BC, and the dominance of the Roman legions up until the fourth century AD. These rules are not intended for use with armies of the orient or for the dark ages. A separate set will be available to cover the era of the fall of Rome up until the dominance of the Feudal Cavalry in the Eleventh-century. If historically based armies and units are used, it is hoped that these rules will offer a realistic simulation of warfare in the ancient world. No army lists are provided in the rules partly because of the number of armies available in this period, but also because several commercial sets already exist which can easily be used along with these rules.
