Description

Based on declassified American war plans, this game simulates the cold war turning hot, the war that for decades threatened us with smithereendom.

A short, introductory scenario supposes that fear of rapidly growing Soviet nuclear power causes the US and England to launch a surprise nuclear attack in 1954. The 1950 scenario is set when the Soviet Union has massive superiority with conventional ground forces. The 1957 scenario supposes that the Soviet crushing of the Hungarian revolt and the Western invasion of Egypt were the final straws.

400 km/hex on strategic map and 75 km/hex on map of Europe, 2 months/turn, armies.

Nicely printed and die-cut counters. One 8.5 x 11-inch strategic hemispheric map, one 11 x 17-inch map of Europe, 308 counters, charts and play aids.
