Queen's Crown

This simple game has been played in one form or another for centuries. There is evidence of such matching games in which the presence of a pattern or color versus a blank or opposite color indicated win, loose or draw in almost every culture. Native Americans used disks of antler with one side darkened by fire, drawn from a covered bowl or basket. A tribe could loose all their possessions on the outcome of one of these games.

This version of the game is played with 2 players, one pouch, and 4 wooden disks. The disks are marked as follows: 1 double crown, 1 double blank and 2 two-sided disks. Also included are glass counters, 6 per player. These are used to build a ‘pot’. Coins, candy, or chips can be substituted for the glass counters. The first one to obtain all the glass counters wins a preset prize. If coins or other substitutes are used, the players can limit winning to single pot/single draw.
