Description

This is the one that started it all. A legacy of military simulation commentary and content spanning over fifty years all started here, in a modest twelve-page periodical. It doesn’t have the fancy color printing or gloss print pages of its successors. It wouldn’t see its first fully fledged game until issue #18. It isn’t bound with anything more than a staple, but this seemingly simple collection of pages has one thing no other wargaming magazine will ever capture…

Prestige

There can be no substitution when it comes to having an authentic copy of this illustrious item. Originally produced by Chris Wagner, a member of the US air Force at the time, S&T stared the conventional content of the day in the face and decided to do better. Little could he have known the chain of events he set into motion. The magazine traded hands many times; first to his collaborator Jim Dunnigan, who is reputed to have started the SPI brand as a way to save the magazine, and then through the auspicious clutches of TSR, 3W, Decision Games, and eventually to have its own brand, Strategy & Tactics Press. With over 300 issues behind it, Strategy & Tactics continues to set the bar for wargaming and none can truly call themselves its rival.

This is one item that it simply isn’t good enough to just read, or to look at, or to see the significance of; it is a historic collector’s piece that one cannot help but want to own. In almost thirty years, Noble Knight Games has seen fewer than a half-dozen of these tiny gems, and it is unlikely that this opportunity will wait for another day. So, if you are a true lover of wargaming and want an irrefutable symbol of your devotion, don’t let the chance to take home this incomparable item pass you by.
