Arthur A. Levine Books

Arthur A. Levine Books was founded in 1996 as an imprint of Scholastic Press. They published their first book, When She Was Good by Norma Fox Mazer, in the fall of 1997. Since then, their imprint has produced more than one hundred seventy-nine works of hardcover literary fiction and nonfiction for children, teenagers, and discerning adults under the editorial direction ofArthur A. Levine. They work with a distinguished list of American authors and illustrators at various phases of their careers, from newcomers like Trent Reedy and Erin Bow to award-winners like Francisco Stork, Shaun Tan, Carolyn Coman, and Richard Egielski. They also strive to bring the best of the world's literature to the United States through the work of such famed international authors and illustrators as J. K. Rowling, Komako Sakai, Nahoko Uehashi, Astrid Lindgren, Jaclyn Moriarty, Anne Provoost, Philip Pullman, Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler, Luis Sepúlveda, and many others.
